Beef Shami Kababs

IMG_3404.jpg

Shami Kababs are crispy, flavorful meat patties that are a freezer-staple at our house!

Along with convenience, shami kababs are also a favorite because of how versatile they are! Make bun kababs, pair the shami kababs with spiced rice, eat it with naan, or even just plain with chutney. Honestly, shami kababs can be a huge lifesaver! That's why it's a great idea to freeze a batch (freezing instructions are written in the recipe card).

Instead of using keema (ground beef), we use beef boti, which makes the kababs perfectly juicy. The ratio we've given is 3 lb of beef with 1 cup of chana daal, but you can always adjust to your preference. If you're making a larger quantity, increase quantities as needed, such as 5 lbs of beef and 2-3 cups of chana daal. However, don't add extra water because the meat releases its own water.

If your kabab mixture doesn't turn out right, don't stress! It's a very quick fix: if the mixture is too dry, add 1 beaten egg. If it is too soft, add 1-2 tbsp of breadcrumbs. Your kababs will turn out perfect!

We hope you try out this really easy and delicious recipe!
