I still remember the first time Ammi showed me how to make fruit chaat. Along with being one of the first chaats I learned how to make (trust me, I've done A LOT of chaat-making), I also remember my initial confusion and disgust at the thought of fruits and spices.

 

And then I tried a bite of fruit chaat and it was immediate love. The way the sweetness of the fruit and the tart spiciness of the chaat masala combine is simply mouth-watering. The sugar adds a hint more of sweetness while the orange juice helps the masala/sugar stick to the fruit and creates an almost sauce-like coating for the fruit chaat.

If you're reluctant about trying this, don't be. It's without a doubt worth a try and an absolute must-have for iftar. Trust me, this fruit chaat is the absolute best combination of sweet and spicy flavors and will leave you craving more!
